Pass context into a form

Use hidden fields for link-supplied context. Visible-answer prefilling is a separate capability that must be verified.

Steps

  1. Define the context field under Design → Logic → Customize using data → Hidden Fields and save it.
Definitions identify the fields expected in the respondent URL. Supply harmless URL-encoded values when testing.
  2. Append the exact field name and a URL-encoded harmless test value to the copied respondent link, preserving its existing query parameters.
Use the current respondent URL rather than a builder URL.
  3. Complete a synthetic response and verify the context in the intended output.
  4. If you need a visible question answered in advance, confirm the supported prefill mechanism with support instead of guessing a URL parameter.

Check before you rely on it

Hidden fields do not automatically fill every visible question or verify the supplied value.

If you need help

Test a missing or changed value. Keep sensitive information out of links.

Contact support with the relevant screen, time, and a redacted description. Keep credentials and private respondent information out of screenshots.
