How hidden fields receive values

A hidden-field definition names the value to read from the link. The link supplies that respondent’s value.

Steps

  1. Create the field under Logic → Customize using data → Hidden Fields. Use a stable name such as campaign.
Definitions identify the fields expected in the respondent URL. Supply harmless URL-encoded values when testing.
  2. Save the definition and copy the respondent link from Share.
Use the current respondent URL rather than a builder URL.
  3. Keep its existing parameters and append the exact field name with a URL-encoded test value.
  4. Test two links with different campaign values and one link with no value.
  5. Check the received values in your intended Results or integration workflow rather than assuming the visible link was processed.

Check before you rely on it

Field names must match exactly. A missing parameter is not the same as a verified identity or an authorized access token.

If you need help

Use only the minimum non-sensitive context needed. Link values can be copied, edited, and exposed by the browser.

Contact support with the relevant screen, time, and a redacted description. Keep credentials and private respondent information out of screenshots.
