Plan promo-code delivery with Mailchimp

Generating a unique code, linking it to a contact, and sending a message are separate jobs. A hidden field does not generate a code.

Steps

  1. Choose the system that issues and validates promo codes and define the allowed redemption rules there.
  2. Store only an appropriate non-sensitive code or reference in a test contact record in your mailing tool.
  3. If passing the reference into a form, define the corresponding hidden field and build a properly encoded link using the mailing tool’s supported merge tag.
Definitions identify the fields expected in the respondent URL. Supply harmless URL-encoded values when testing.
Use the current respondent URL rather than a builder URL.
  4. Verify the resolved link for a synthetic contact and test the complete redemption workflow in its own sandbox.
  5. Check consent, duplicate sends, expired codes, and a missing-code contact before launching a campaign.

Check before you rely on it

Do not use an editable hidden-field value as proof that a coupon is valid or single-use. Validate redemption on the issuing system.

If you need help

An automatic RapidoForm-to-Mailchimp coupon issuing or sending workflow has not been verified. Confirm the supported integration before promising automatic delivery.

Contact support with the relevant screen, time, and a redacted description. Keep credentials and private respondent information out of screenshots.
