Add hidden fields to a respondent link
Use a separate link per campaign when you want to attach a campaign label to the response.
Select a screenshot to enlarge it.
Steps
- Add and save a campaign field in Design → Logic → Customize using data → Hidden Fields.
Definitions identify the fields expected in the respondent URL. Supply harmless URL-encoded values when testing. - Copy the actual respondent URL from Share; do not replace its form identifier or language parameters.
Use the current respondent URL rather than a builder URL. - Append campaign=newsletter using & if the URL already has query parameters, or ? if it has none.
- URL-encode values containing spaces or special characters. Use synthetic labels while testing.
- Complete a test response and confirm the label arrives in the destination where you will use it.
Check before you rely on it
Do not append the parameter after a # fragment. A fragment is a different part of a URL and may not be sent to the server.
If you need help
When values are missing, compare the saved field name and the actual link parameter, including case and spelling.
Contact support with the relevant screen, time, and a redacted description. Keep credentials and private respondent information out of screenshots.
