Steps

  1. Open Design → More settings and find Allow respondents to continue later.
Controls such as Hide progress bar use negative wording. Check the switch against the actual preview.
  2. Enable it for the intended form and confirm saving. Explain any instructions the actual respondent flow provides for resuming.
  3. With synthetic answers, pause partway through, close the tab, and attempt the supported resume route.
Choose Mobile below the preview to inspect a narrow layout. Also test the complete form on an actual phone.
  4. Check the recovered answers, variables, uploads, and final response. Test the device or browser change you intend to support separately.

Check before you rely on it

Do not promise cross-device recovery, unlimited retention, or recovery after cleared browser data without verifying it.

If you need help

A new respondent link can start a fresh session. Confirm the actual resume mechanism before launching a long form.

Contact support with the relevant screen, time, and a redacted description. Keep credentials and private respondent information out of screenshots.
