Example question and list-opening control. Preview is a layout check; saved answers, attachments, and completion require separate tests.
  2. Open Question options and check Mark Optional. The current Dropdown panel does not show the Selection question’s Multiple Selections control.
Current dropdown options from a synthetic development form. Review the controls offered for your selected question.
  3. Preview opening the list, selecting an item, changing the selection, and leaving the answer blank.
Open the dropdown to check that all choices are present and readable.
  4. Test on mobile and check the saved answer in Results using a synthetic response.

Check before you rely on it

Keep option labels short and distinctive. A very long list can be difficult to browse on a phone.

If you need help

Use the controls offered for this type rather than following old instructions for a separate multi-select dropdown mode.

Contact support with the relevant screen, time, and a redacted description. Keep credentials and private respondent information out of screenshots.
